Neighborhood

Cedar Escape is located within the Massanutten community, surrounded by the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley. You’ll be close to Massanutten Resort’s year-round activities while still having a comfortable home base to come back to at the end of the day. Depending on the season, spend your days skiing, snow tubing, golfing, hiking, mountain biking, visiting the water park, or exploring everything else the area has to offer. Beyond Massanutten, Harrisonburg and JMU are an easy drive away, and Shenandoah National Park makes for a great day trip. The surrounding Shenandoah Valley is also home to wineries, breweries, farms, caverns, scenic drives, and plenty of small-town stops worth exploring. Cedar Escape is located in a residential mountain community, so you’ll have neighbors nearby and may see local wildlife during your stay. Please do not feed or approach any wildlife, and never leave food or trash outside. Because this is a wooded mountain environment, bugs and other insects are also a normal part of the area, especially during warmer months. We regularly maintain and treat the property, but you may still occasionally encounter them indoors or outdoors.

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire home. Massanutten Resort attractions and amenities are nearby and operated separately. Availability, reservations, admission and additional fees may apply.

The host and hostess were amazingly welcoming and responsive for my group of nine with two different families! Our biggest regret was only booking two nights and not more! The house and amenities were so comfortable and convenient to all that Massanutten Resort had to offer.

Location

A car is strongly recommended when staying at Cedar Escape. Massanutten is a mountain community, and most resort activities, restaurants, shops, and nearby attractions require driving. The roads throughout the community are paved but can be winding and hilly. During winter weather, conditions can change quickly, so please plan accordingly and check local conditions before traveling. There is no convenient public transportation within Massanutten, and the area is not generally walkable for getting to restaurants, attractions, or shopping. Harrisonburg and JMU are an easy drive away, and Shenandoah National Park, local wineries, breweries, and other Shenandoah Valley attractions are best explored by car.
